OVERVIEW
The Czech Republic also known as Czechia, is a landlocked country in Central Europe sharing its borders with Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Poland. It covers a total area of 78,866 square kilometers (30,450 sq mi) with mostly European continental influenced climate. It has warm, dry summers and fairly cold winters. In summers the temperature generally ranging between 20-25°C which can rise up to 30°C. Winters are very cold with temperature below 0°C and strong cold winds, January being the coldest month of the year, experiences heavy snow and snowstorms.
Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic which is also the largest city of the country, with approximately 1.3 million residents. Czech is known for its ornate castles, Prague castle being the largest in the world. It also has the oldest astronomical clock known as Prague astronomical clock which was installed in 1410. This country has a rich history, being the only country in Europe that was not much affected by World War II, as a result of this its historical buildings are still as originally built, some even dating to the middle ages. Czech is famous for its beer, consuming the most beer per capita in the world.
