OVERVIEW
Also known as ‘The Republic of Austria’, it covers an area of 83,879 km2. It is bordered by the Czech Republic and Germany to the north, Hungary & Slovakia to the east, Slovenia & Italy to the south and Switzerland & Liechtenstein to the west. The capital of Austria is Vienna. Austria experiences Temperate climatic zone, with landscapes majorly including mountain ranges, hills, and plains. Winters are pretty cold here experiencing snowfall, with snow covers lasting from late December through March. Summers are hot with temperature reaching 30°C.
Austria is known for its Palaces, Castles & Buildings. It has a rich Roman Catholic Tradition. Minoritenkirche being the oldest cathedral, among its palaces, the Belvedere and Schönbrunn are the famous ones. Austria is also known for its Cemeteries, with Vienna alone contributing to fifty different Cemeteries. Other Tourist attractions include Hochosterwitz Castle, Krens, Eiseriesenwelt Cave, Vienna State Opera, Mirabell Palace, Schafberg, Hohenwerfen Castle, Zell am See, Melk Abbey, Seefeld in Tyrol, Hofburg Imperial Palace, Schonbrunn Palace, etc.
