Officially known as the Republic of Latvia, it is bordered by Estonia, Lithuania, Russia & Belarus. Latvia is spread over an area of64,589 Km². the capital of Latvia is Riga.
Latvia experiences a temperate climate zone with four seasons as winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Winter here lasts from December to March with temperature ranging from 5 to -30°C. Due to flat terrain, this is the best time for cross country skiing. Springs in Latvia starts from mid-February, temperature ranging from 0 to 15°C, spring is usually accompanied by floods, and rise in water level. This is the best time for activities such as Boating, Fishing, Bird watching, etc. Summers in Latvia are pleasant and starts in June till September, the average temperature is 16°C. Summers is the best time to visit Baltic Shoreline & do cycling. Autumn in Latvia lasts from September to December temperature ranging from 10 to 0°C, giving first snowfall of the season.
Latvia is known for its oak Tree that is around 3000 yrs old. Not only this but Latvia has predominantly a forest area, and are referred to as green gold because it generates revenue for the country. Latvia has a museum that has been dedicated to the greatest liar of the world Hieronymus Karl Friedrich Freiherr von Munchhausen for his fake tales of his travel to the moon during Russo-Turkish war. Latvia is also known for its rivers, it has around 12,000 rivers with only 20 of them are longer than 62 miles. Latvia is the first country to produce denims and an alternate for Citric acid.
The major tourist attraction of Latvia is its capital city Riga which has Architecture, Gothic cathedrals, world-class Art Nouveau, cafes, and bars &delicious dining . Other tourist places are Gauja National Park for hiking, Jurmla a seaside resort just 20 minutes drive from Riga, Kuldiga for romantic getaways,Rundale Palace & museum, Turaida Museum Reserve, Cesis, Liepaja, Latgale, Ventspils, etc.
